Monster.com and CareerBuilder.com receive a lot of marketing and hype. Unfortunately, their product hasn't evolved much in the past 10 years, and it's become a breeding ground for staffing agencies and fake sales jobs. Before you upload your resume to those sites and start looking for a new job, you might want to think twice about how much spam you want in your inbox.
Instead, try out Indeed.com. It is a great job search aggregator (like Kayak.com for jobs). It pulls jobs from several different websites with ease. You can do specific searches by location (even down to a 10 mile radius). Once you conduct a search, you can come back later and only look at new jobs since you last looked. This saves a ton of time when you are checking job boards religiously. You can also set up alerts for specific keywords. The interface is simple and doesn't flood you with pop-up ads like other sites. They even have a handy mobile app you can use on your tablet or phone.
I highly recommend trying out Indeed.com if you haven't already. Trust me, you will thank me for it.
